Target:

Heart valves may be affected by the following problems:

  • The heart valve does not fully open (stenosis), which limits the amount of blood pumped to the rest of the body.
  • The valve does not fully close (valvular insufficiency or regurgitation), which means that blood can flow backward instead of forward. The backwards flow of blood reduces the heart’s ability to pump blood to the rest of the body, and it also causes pressure to build in the heart and lungs.

Target:

The mountain sun pierces brains, dries up noses, and heats the coffee that reigns over the republic of my table. In the final stages, I exhale deeply and begin. How do I say it? Sit down beside me on the sidewalk and watch. It will be enough. Words cannot take the place of presence. Come here, beside the man who sells Tibetan trinkets wrapped in a toothless smile and the promise of a discount tomorrow if you learn to meet his eye; here, on the dusty steps that lead you to those restaurants designed for tourists (thirty-five different varieties of pizza, shouts the sign between exclamations of surprise, from the sign itself and from potential customers) leave enough space for the small lama to slurp the papaya in his own circle while he waits for a space in the military truck that acts as the traveling nanny today for everyone coming or going.
